This is a fairly common homebrew (in my limited experience), because the cost to create a spell slot using sorcery points using Font of Magic is exactly the same as the conversion rate between Spell Points and Spell Levels, which is awfully convenient, and, in my experience, is a great buff to sorcerers and makes them feel like a much more unique class. If you are a DM that allows sorcerers to use Spell Points instead of Spell Slots (as per the DMG), and combines them with Sorcery Points (homebrew) to make one resource pool, I'm here to warn you that this absolutely does not work with Aberrant Mind Sorcerers.
